Eugenia Dushina studied at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow and also began her singing career in Russia, where she appeared on a number of operatic stages. As a soloist of Moscow’s historic Natalya Sats Musical Theater, she sang smaller roles in works such as Bizet’s Carmen and Ravel’s L’enfant et les sortilèges. Before long she was making guest appearances in major roles all over Russia such as Tatyana in Eugene Onegin and Mimi in La Bohème at the Saratov opera theater , Nedda in Pagliacci and Tchaikovsky’s Iolanta at the Krasnoyarsk State opera and Magnitogorsk opera.
In 2016, she moved to Europe in order to develop her career. While completing postgraduate studies at Vienna’s University of Music and Performing Arts in 2017, she made her European debut as Nedda in Pagliacci for the Oper Klosterneuburg Festival in Vienna and was hailed by the Austrian newspaper “Kurier” as “the discovery of the evening”. She has also sung Alice Ford in Verdi’s Falstaff, Rosalinde in Strauss’s Die Fledermaus, Donna Elvira in Mozart’s Don Giovanni and Tatyana in Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Oneghin in Schlosstheater Schönbrunn.
Since 2017 she is a freelance opera singer and has added to her repertoire several leading roles as Violetta Valery in La traviata of Verdi and Leila in Les pêcheurs de perles of Bizet.
The beginning of the season 2018-2019 opened to Eugenia with a big debut in Asia in South Korea/Daegu Opera Festival in cooperation with the biggest world known operette festival Seefestspiele Mörbisch in October, she presented the role of Hanna Hlawari from Merry Widow of Lehar. She was shining as wonderful Nedda in production „Pagliacci“ of Dalia Ibelhauptaite in Lithuania. Than followed the debut with Liu in the co-production of Vilnius National opera theatre and the Royal Opera theatre of Madrid, in the opera of Puccini’s Turandot- stage director Robert Wilson. In summer she was debuting as Giulietta in „Les contes d‘Hoffmann“ of J.Offenbach in Oper Klosterneuburg in Wien, stage director François de Carpentries
In the 2019-2021 she will appear as Violetta Valery in Verdi’s Traviata in Opera Toulon, as Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni of Mozart in the production of Theater Lübeck, as Liu in Robert Wilson Production of Turandot in Vilnius National Opera Theater, as Gretchen in Schumann’s Faust scenes in Opera Bergen and as a Soprano in Orff‘s Carmina Burana in Tournee in China.
Eugenia Dushina has won prizes at several major international competitions including the Grand Prix Maria Callas, Feruccio Tagliavini Competition, and Glinka International Vocal Contest. In addition to her operatic roles, she has appeared on important concert stages all over Europe and Russia, and her work has also been recorded. She has performed in Rimsky-Korsakov’s opera-ballet The Golden Cockerel at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, participated in the Russian premiere of Britten’s Death in Venice, which was conducted in a concert performance by Gennady Rozhdestvensky in Moscow, and was a featured soloist in Vladimir Ashkenazy’s recording of Rachmaninov’s Monna Vanna, made for the Ondine label.
